Summary: Barbara just received news that Dr. Mid-Nite has found a way to allow Barbara to walk again. She’s having doubts about it and herself. Her closest friend, Dinah comes to give her some motivation and encouragement.
A/N: Just a little personal canon of mine in terms of how Barbara actually dealt with the “reboot”. I say “reboot” since I don’t know if it was actually Mid-Nite.

[Image Description: Two panels from the comic issue Blackest Night #2. In it, Barbara and Jim Gordon are on the roof, waiting for Batman to show up. Jim has just expressed how he has a weird feeling that something bad has happened to Batman. Barbara says, “When I was in physical therapy, there was a sign on the gym wall. It read, ‘No matter how dark the night gets, the sun still rises in the morning.’ Every day, I’d wake up two hours before dawn. Back then it’d take me that long to get into my chair, clean up and go outside to watch the sun rise, but I did it. And I still do. I love my life, dad. I love every single day. I bought enough coffee to last until sunrise.” Jim replies, “You’re an amazing person, you know that?” and she says “Like father, like daughter.”]
Barbara is at the JSA headquarters, laying down in Dr. Mid-Nite’s office.
She’s looking up with a gentle smile.
Barbara: Well, that’s interesting, isn’t it?
Pieter: You seem to be taking this extraordinarily well. Are you sure you understand the odds here?
Barbara: Doctor…it’s been several years since the accident.
Barbara gazes out the sunlit window.
Barbara: I’ve done the exercises faithfully. I’ve done the therapies. And in all that time, there’s never been a single moment of improvement. Now I can move my toes. I can look down and see my body respond, like they’re waving back at me. If nothing else ever comes from this…
Barbara closes her eyes, tears falling as the sun sets.
Barbara wipes at her eyes, grinning up at Pieter as he grips her hand.
Barbara: …Well, it’s still an unspeakably wonderful gift, isn’t it?
They embrace, seen through the window as the autumn leaves fall.
Pieter: You’re right, Barbara. Forgive me. I didn’t understand.
Barbara: Don’t be sad, Doc. Be happy. It’s a glorious day.
